ESCANABA — The state of the Delta County Airport and an ongoing investigation into how the airport fell out of compliance with federal regulations were major topics at the Delta County Board of Commissioners meeting this week.

ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Delta County Airport is officially “out of crisis mode,” according to its manager. However, he says there is still a lot of work to be done. Since taking on the role of manager in October, Robert Ranstadler has been working to resolve the Delta County Airport’s compliance issues with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Ranstadler submitted the required paperwork to the FAA earlier this month.

ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Delta County Airport is approaching an “administrative crisis,” according to its manager. Robert Ranstadler took over as manager in October. Since then, he says he has uncovered a pattern of the airport “nearing” being “out of compliance” with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.

In addition to his expertise in creating and delivering various training and curricula, Robert is also an accomplished program and project manager. This document is a self-generated inspection record he produced to correct program discrepancies, related to vehicle upkeep and maintenance, while serving as the Delta County Airport Manager.
